This is a tetra helix with holes in it caused by removing selected struts, to form quadrilaterals out of pairs of triangs. The clue to the amazing stability of this object is that each of these quadrilaterals of visible bamboo skewers is tensioned on the diagonals by invisible nylon threads. This construction is even more stable in the wind than the normal tetrahelix because it is held together by tension.
